Afternoon Course: 1.30 – 3.30pm

We will share our experience of cultivating willow at West Wales Willows in Gwernogle, Carmarthenshire, starting with how we coppice our own willow beds, and then preparing new beds and willow cuttings to ensure the best growth potential.

The course is 2 hours long, costs £20 per person and places are limited to 6 people. It is a practical course (you will be cutting and grading willow). Wellies are essential as well as wet weather gear in case of rain.

Basketry willow and willow for biofuel are covered.

There are three lovely local pubs that we can suggest if you wanted to make a day of it and eat lunch out.

We have over 200 varieties of willow on our 9 acre smallholding, which can be ordered during your visit, subject to availability.
