Our Short Rotational Coppice kit is perfect for anyone wanting to grow their own logs to use as bio fuel.  We sell to a lot of smallholders, glamping sites and One Planet Development owners.

Willow must be grown in full sun but will tolerate slight shade in the morning or evening.  It will not grow in full shade.

We also suggest sighting the willow bed away for any established trees and power/phone lines.

Contents include:

• 1 x 8m x 25m Sileage Sheet – used to keep the weeds at bay which is essential for at least 2 years or you will experience significant stunting in growth.  The sheet is UV stable and can be removed after 2 years if you wish.  Can be recycled if your recycle facility accepts this material.
• 200 x 10″ willow cuttings – fast growing willow (a mix of Salix Viminalis and hybrids) suitable for bio-fuel, at least 3 named varieties. We suggest growing on a 3/4 year cycle and then logging for use in a wood burner.  At time of felling, any branchy growth can be chipped or left as small piles under hedges to improve habitat.
• Pegs to secure silage sheet.  We also suggest using wood/stones etc to secure the sheet for the first year.
