Description
A little known European willow with a short, bushy growth and first documented in 1855. Approx 0.5 – 1.0m growth in the first year.
Oval green leaves with shiny surface and early catkins in the spring, so perfect for pollinators. Lovely yellow stems for winter colour.
We grow it as a low growing hedge – planted about 30cm apart and coppiced annually. Could be left to grow and trimmed with hedge trimmer.
Very similar in habit to Salix Bicolour (Salix phylicifolia).
